Our Beginning

Started Small, Grown Real

Umbrelo Ltd began in 2018 when founder Claire realized something simple but important: adults in their 40s, 50s, and 60s weren’t just looking for a hobby. They wanted community. They wanted to step away from routines and rediscover things that made them feel alive.

The first guided walk had 12 people. It rained. The terrain was muddy. But something clicked that day — people weren’t there for Instagram moments or competition. They showed up for conversation, fresh air, and the chance to feel part of something genuine. That’s still the core of what we do.

We’ve expanded beyond walking tours into watercolour painting classes, photography club outings, and garden party socials. But the principle hasn’t changed. Every single outing — whether it’s a 10km trail through Wicklow or an afternoon learning how to capture light in a painting — is designed around one idea: people deserve to feel connected, challenged, and genuinely themselves.

Countryside Walking Tours

Guided walks through Ireland’s most beautiful trails. We’re talking Wicklow Mountains, coastal paths near Howth, forest trails in Kerry. Routes suit different fitness levels. Most importantly, you’re walking with people who actually want to talk and laugh — not racing against a timer.

Watercolour Painting Classes

No prior experience needed. We work with local instructors who understand that adults learn differently — they want practical skills, not judgment. You’ll learn basic techniques, color theory, and how to actually finish a piece you’re proud of.

Photography Club Outings
